Dropping toxic people, even if it's family members.

Toxic relationships come in all forms; it can be between friends, boyfriends and girlfriends or even a family member. Most often, it's usually a person who is closest to you that is harming you most. Taking yourself out of a toxic relationship is painful, there are no instructions on how to walk away, but for the sake of your happiness and sanity, it's necessary sometimes.

Family will take advantage of the fact that you are blood  and use that to manipulate  and continue to belittle, and harm you. They will continue to make you feel like YOU feel like you're a terrible person and use it against you because you are family. This makes it extremely difficult to cut ties with them.

Time after time, you'll find yourself trying to justify their behavior and forgiving them because they are family. This situation is confusing. You're trying to not only endure the lack of love and hurt the have afflicted on you, but also the lack of a positive relationship with someone who is your own blood.

Take a step back, really take a look at the people closest to you and make a list of how they make you feel. Think about this list. Are you happy about it?

Toxic People Aren't "Fixable"
Toxic people act they way they way the do usually because of an internal problem they are having, but is taken out on those around them. You are in no obligation to "fix" a toxic person. Most often, they have no idea why they hurt who they do, but yet, they keep doing it. This doesn't make it okay! Toxic people produce drama and reside in a world of negativity and YOU have to really think and decide if you can condone their actions forever - because it will never go away.
Just because they are family, doesn't mean that the relationship is built on love and understanding. You are family by blood and that maybe the only connection.

You Have A Right To Be Happy
You deserve to be treated with respect and love. How can you be happy when you are in a situation full of negativity? You not live a positive and happy life when you are surrounded by toxic, hurtful people.

You Are Allowing It To Continue
Yes, they are the ones hurting you in every way, but they continue because you allow it...
Stand up for yourself and don't allow them to continue to make you feel this way. Leave that situation and stop condoning what they are doing to you. STOP LLOWING IT.

Expect The Worst When Confronting A Toxic Person
You'll see how truly manipulative they are when you confront them. They will play the victim and blame it on you. They will lie to others about what you confronted them about. They will make up stories and twist your words around to others to make you look like you are in the wrong.

Don't let this make you back down from standing up for yourself. You have a right to protect your happiness and sanity. Family or not, you have a right to protect and stand up for yourself if they are putting your well being at risk.

Having kids and them being exposed to toxic people for as long as they have been, makes me sick. It makes me feel like an awful mother even though the toxic people my kids around are my family members. They are suppose to protect my babies, but instead risked their well being. I have finally come to terms with the fact that these toxic people aren't going to change. My husband and kids gave me the strength and courage to stand up for myself and make the decision to finally cut these toxic people from our lives.

  1. You are so right! Sometimes people just have to go when they are dragging you down with negativity. I have had to do this over the last few years including a friend I have had for 25 years and my half sister. These people were bringing too much drama and negativity and it just wasn't worth it.

Married To A Mechanic: 8 things to expect. 🔧

Since I've started blogging, I've only blogged about my husband personally like once or twice, so this is dedicated to my mechanic husband. Erich has been working on cars since he was about 14 years old, so 20 years. He does it for a living but on diesels. He does it in hi spare time as well so basically, all the freaking time. Here's what to expect if you date a mechanic. Car Talk Mechanics talk about cars like 24/7; Parts, make and model, they even try to explain to you how certain parts work. If you tell them you don't understand, they will explain again, in depth with more detail, which is even more confusing. Either go on Google and learn a little bit or pretend you understand what they are talking about. Oil & Grease White anything is against any mechanics beliefs. I have to clean the walls, counters, appliances, PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING at minimum of 3 times a week. They are usually covered from head to toe in oil and grease. Honestly, I thin...

Spring Time Means Allergies!

Sprint time is the worst season for me. I hate this season honestly. My allergies are horrible during spring, like when I say horrible, I mean face swollen, constant nose blowing. The whole awful nine yards. Just the other day, I swear I sneezed about a million and one times and then lost my voice. We just moved into a house that had ben vacant for two months before we moved in, so there was two months of dust accumulated on the floors and walls. Needless to say, my first day in our new house consisted of a lot of sneezing and wheezing. Since spring is just around the corner and that means so are allergies, I made a list of home remedies for allergy relief that has really helped me and hopefully will help you too.
