My Hair Seven Months After Being Butchered.

Back in July of 2017, I went to a salon where I always went, to get a new hair style, but ended up leaving traumatized. You can read the story here . That haircut was just so bad, it was the worst one I've ever gotten. It was hell these last 7 months dealing and managing my hair while it was growing back. It went through an awkward stage pretty much the entire time. It's still in an awkward stage, but at lease it's not buzzed anymore. My 'bad hair days' were ten times worse than normal bad hair days. While some women who were having bad hair days could just throw their hair in a hair tie and call it good, I had to straighten what hair I did have or it would stick up. I've never missed my long hair more than I have the past 7 months. I couldn't just have a bad hair day like every other woman on this planet with hair. I couldn't just wash and let it dry and call it good. There was nothing good about that for my hair. I had to blow dry and str...

The Cold Truth About Toddlers + Tips.

I bet you are all excited about your baby becoming a toddler, right? This is the fun age, they can verbally tell me what they want, time for potty training. Let me tell you the truth about having a toddler.  Toddlers may look cute and sweet, but they aren't always like that. The way I describe my toddler is sour patch kid. Trust me, this is fitting to most toddlers. Here's the truth about toddlers. 1. They act like wild animals: they play with their own poop as well as your animals poop. They climb on EVERYTHING and they don't mind eating out of a dog bowl on the ground. 2. They are destructive. They will break anything, even things you didn't think were breakable. They like to destroy furniture as well. 3. They are kind of evil. You will find the heads, legs and arms of their baby dolls not attached to their bodies. Sometimes, they'll even put the dolls detached limbs in their mouths and then giggle. 4. They are thieves. They will take anything that isn...

How-to do your makeup in 7 minutes. *VIDEO*

Hey Lovelies! This goes along with what I said in my previous  post  about how we don't have enough time. Well, I'm going to be doing a quick simple make up look in 7 MINUTES. This is totally doable every morning, right? Lets see if I can actually do my makeup in 7 minutes.  No, this video isn't rehearsed.  TIPS: Pick out your makeup the night before and lay it out so you can use the whole 7  minutes putting it on. Pick your clothes out the night before too so you can coordinate your makeup with your clothes.  I mean, if you do that like I do.  As you can see, if you just want a quick simple look, it is possible to do it in 7 minutes. You can find here, the  Mermaid Makeup Brushes  I was using. The brush I was using works really well for blending!!

Do you know a narcissist?

I'm sure everyone has a narcissist in their life, the question is, how to identify one. There are many signs of someone being a narcissist. This should help you to easily identify if someone in your life is a narcissist. It can be hard to determine if someone close to you is one; love or better yet, the idea of love will blind you from truly seeing. Conversation hoggers A narcissist is conceited. They'll talk about themselves in every way in a conversation. They will hardly let you talk, and when, and when they do, if you're not in agreement with them, they will belittle you or your opinion is dismissed or ignored. They always have to feel like they know more. Always Interrupts Everyone has that little bad of interrupting in a conversation, but a narcissist will interrupt and quickly change the topic to themselves and genuinely has no interest in what you said. Breaks Rules They hate following rules, guidelines, or a schedule. They will break appointments often. ...

Dear Present Broken Self...

Dear Present Broken Self, I know You've been through hell and back and then hell and back again. I know you've been feeling broken lately and have had a hard time trusting anyone, so I am here to tell you that you will be alright. You are strong, remember that. You are worth it. Don't let the cruel actions of others make you question your self-worth. You do not control what others do, so don't blame yourself for their actions. Don't think you did something wrong because others decided to hurt you and betray your trust for their own selfish  reasons, they choose to do that, not you. Only take what you can handle. Only fix what you think has a chance. Don't let anyone influence your choices. Those are your decisions. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for a choice you made that you felt was right for you. Don't let anyone or their actions define who you are or who you strive to be, unless it's beneficial to you. Don't let anyone take advantag...

Why Honesty Is ALWAYS Important.

The last few months, the act of being honest has been such an issue for the people in my life. I cannot begin to express what this dishonesty has done to me. I cannot begin to express what dishonesty has caused me to lose. I've been hurt to where it feels like there is no return; no way to feel whole again. Here is a list of why honesty is ALWAYS important, no matter what. 1.) Without honesty, there is no foundation for any relationship, weather that be with friends or a significant other. Meaningful words such as "I love you" become a lie when the relationship has no honesty. 2.) When people don't know the truth, they will try and guess what you're not being honest about. This causes gossip which generates more lies. 3.) No one is a mind reader. Be honest about how you feel. Be honest to the people who hurt you. Sometimes, they may not realize that hurt you. 4.) Although truth can be painful and hard to tell, it's often less painful tha...

Dear Ignorant Woman In Line Behind me,

Dear Ignorant woman in line behind me , I heard you bad mouth that mom and her two kids in the checkout stand in the grocery store the other day. I heard you judge and criticize her because her two kids were crying. I noticed that you had your child who isn't that young anymore with you. So, now I have to ask... What makes you a better mom than her?! What gave you the right to belittle her in public for everyone else to hear you?! Do you know this mom's life? What she's been dealing with or going through now? What makes you think you can tell her how to parent HER KIDS?! It's obvious that she's already struggling at the checkout stand, trying to checkout and pay while trying to calm her kids down. She's already embarrassed and you just made it worse by being uncompassionate and just ignorant. If you see another mom struggling in the grocery store or wherever, offer your assistance like a decent human being. If you can't do that and only have unhelpf...

Wellness Wednesday: Cutting Soda.

We all have something we're hooked on and they may not always be the best for us. Mine was soda. I swear, soda was running through my veins because of how much I was drinking. If I didn't drink at least 3 soda's a day, I would get caffeine withdrawal headaches. After I had my daughter, drinking as much soda as I was started making me sick. I got dehydrated really fast and just felt gross. I knew I needed to cut down but it was hard for me to do that because of the headaches I got. I'm not much of a juice drinker and water is just to plain for me, even flavored water. Here's the breakdown: Substitution I knew I couldn't just stop drinking soda cold turkey, so I started substituting it with Gatorade. Instead of drinking 3 soda's a day, I cut it down to one soda a day and then Gatorade the rest of the day. The Gatorade kept me hydrated and made me feel less gross. Consistency I kept doing this. As badly as I wanted more soda, I stuck with Gat...

Married To A Mechanic: 8 things to expect. 🔧

Since I've started blogging, I've only blogged about my husband personally like once or twice, so this is dedicated to my mechanic husband. Erich has been working on cars since he was about 14 years old, so 20 years. He does it for a living but on diesels. He does it in hi spare time as well so basically, all the freaking time. Here's what to expect if you date a mechanic. Car Talk Mechanics talk about cars like 24/7; Parts, make and model, they even try to explain to you how certain parts work. If you tell them you don't understand, they will explain again, in depth with more detail, which is even more confusing. Either go on Google and learn a little bit or pretend you understand what they are talking about. Oil & Grease White anything is against any mechanics beliefs. I have to clean the walls, counters, appliances, PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING at minimum of 3 times a week. They are usually covered from head to toe in oil and grease. Honestly, I thin...

Dropping toxic people, even if it's family members.

Toxic relationships come in all forms; it can be between friends, boyfriends and girlfriends or even a family member. Most often, it's usually a person who is closest to you that is harming you most. Taking yourself out of a toxic relationship is painful, there are no instructions on how to walk away, but for the sake of your happiness and sanity, it's necessary sometimes. Family will take advantage of the fact that you are blood   and use that to manipulate  and continue to belittle, and harm you. They will continue to make you feel like YOU feel like you're a terrible person and use it against you because you are family. This makes it extremely difficult to cut ties with them. Time after time, you'll find yourself trying to justify their behavior and forgiving them because they are family. This situation is confusing. You're trying to not only endure the lack of love and hurt the have afflicted on you, but also the lack of a positive relationship with some...

Anything

So my name is Katherine. My best friend here asked me to be a guest blogger on her blog. Well let's talk about anything. We could talk about kids (which I have one), we could talk about ex's (we all have those), we could talk about food, maybe even dating. You know what let's talk about dating. Dating is a joke these days! Who know being a single mother and dating would be so hard! Like really how childish can a guy be when it comes to a woman who holds her own ground would be so intimidating! Guy's just want sex. Nothing more. I hate dating! They say one thing but they mean the complete opposite. And if they get mad they just turn around and call you a scum and so forth. Like really? What is wrong with guys?!?! Ok rant over. Sorry Jessie if this post sucks! Love you!

Are you teaching your kids to be good people?

I often wonder if I'm truly a good person and being kind and if I'm really teaching my kids to be good people as well. If you're struggling with this too, please read the following. Be H onest This is a big one. Be honest in everything you do. Be honest with your kids, it will teach them that being honest is the right thing to do even if it's hard to be honest. You are your kids main influence. They learn from the things you do. Be Respectful To Others You know the golden rule, "Treat others how you want to be treated." Teach this to your kids, it will help them to understand that bullying is not okay.  Be Happy Be happy to wake up to another day. Be grateful for the things and people you have in your life. Don't dwell on what you could have. Have a positive outlook on everything. Teach your kids this so they can be thankful for what they have and be positive. Have fun in everything you do. Take the time out of your everyday responsibilities to...

Eleven MOM quotes to lift your spirits.

Another mom blogger posted some of her favorite motivational quotes that she said helps her when she's having a bad day. I thought I would do some of my favorite being a mom quotes that have truly helped me when I have felt defeated.  This one is so true. I am pro at doing pretty much anything one handed. This! I can't count the number of times that my husband says we need a night of fun and my idea of fun is watching Finding Dory for the 3rd time while eating goldfish crackers with my kids. I can't even remember what my life was like without my kids and now, I couldn't imagine what my life would be like without them.  This one is my favorite. "You were given these children- You . No one else." If you are have a rough day or even a rough week because mom lives are unpredictable, messy, crazy and exhausting, remember that you mean the world to your babies and they need you. That's all that matters. ❤

Every Mom Life Is Different.

Moms are always comparing their lives and issues to other mom's. "You don't have to deal with what I  have to..." "You have it easier, my life is all over the place..." etc. No mom's life is easier or harder than another. They are all hard, but in different ways. Being a mom is the toughest job out there. We all face the same, but also different obstacles being a mom. We need to support and stand by each other. Let's take a look inside another fellow mom's life. I interviewed one of my friends and asked her a few question. My name is Angie. My husband, Justin and I met 9 years ago. We welcomed our son, Nicholas in 2010. We currently live in Eagle, Colorado and love being in the mountains. Like most families, we face different scenarios constantly that we work together as a family to overcome. Was becoming a mom anything like you expected? I knew being a mom would not be easy, but I did no think it would be this difficult. I wa...

You Are My Person. ❤

This past year was a disaster for me, drama and a whole lot of heart ache, but this woman right here was there for me through everything. I never thought someone could help pick up my broken pieces from over 300 miles away, but my best friend, Katherine did just that. She reassured me over and over that I was worth something. She always listens when I need someone to talk to, even if I've talked to about the same problem a million times before. Katherine and I have been friends for 15+ years. When Katherine lived in Henderson, Nevada, we were inseparable. We literally did every little thing together, until she moved away when we were 14 years old. When she left, I didn't feel whole anymore. A piece of me was gone. She is my person, ya know? Katherine is one of the strongest women I know. Now, this woman has been through some craziness, but that hasn't stopped her. She's a single mom of my godson/nephew, Noah. She works two jobs just so she can support herse...

How To Manage Your Stress & Depression.

Raising a family and being a part of society can be overwhelming if not managed right. The same with depression. Many mom's, working or SAHM's can easily become stressed out from the constant running, running, they are always doing whether it is work, housework, feedings, appointments of just chasing your hurricane toddlers around. If you don't manage your stress accordingly, it can lead to depression. To find out how I've maintained my stress during my crazy days, you must ready on. Have fun instead If you are feeling beyond overwhelmed about all the dishes or housework you need to do and are just dreading it, put it off. Seriously. Go play a game or color with your kids, have fun with them. This will lower your stress level and make your kids happy. So by the time you do those dishes, you'll be calmed down and your kids will be too. Another way is to listen to music while working around the house. Always works for me. Find a hobby Doing something outsi...
