Crazy Cleaning Lady!

Ever since I got pregnant, my cleaning "problem" has increased... a lot.
I don't think this is a bad thing (My husband will disagree cause he doesn't think I need to be using too many chemicals). So, I found some home remedies for natural chemical free cleaning products that really work!
I thought I'd share with everyone my secrets!! SHHHHH.

One of my absolute favorites is :

Vinegar & Baking soda spray
This solution gets rid of set in stains and odors on carpets. This is definitely my Go-to solution! I have dogs and they like to ruin my day and tinkle on the floor!
Well this completely gets rid of the smell!!!
Awesome right?!

What you'll need:
-2 Cups of White distilled vinegar
-2 cups of lukewarm water
-4 Generous tablespoons of baking soda
-Spray bottle

Directions:
First make sure whatever you are cleaning up on your carpet is completely blotted up with a rag. It helps if you put something heavy on top of the rag, like a heavy book and then stand on it. its really important that you make sure the wet spot is blotted up until its mostly dry.

-Mix the 2 cups of white distilled vinegar with the 2 cups of lukewarm water in a bowl
-Add in the 4 tablespoons of baking soda in smaller amounts at a time (It fizzes) and mix
-Dump solution into spray bottle (having a funnel of some sort comes in handy)

Now you have a chemical free cleaning solution!
Just spray on area and let it sit for a few minutes then blot it up with soft cloth.
BOOM!

Note: It will smell like vinegar. I love the smell but my husband does not so, Here is another solution for home made
Air freshener spray.

What you'll need:
-1 Tablespoon of baking soda
-Distilled water
-Essential Oil (Any smell that you prefer)
-Spray bottle

Directions:
-Add the baking soda and 5-6 drops of your essential oil in a bowl and mix.
(I ended up adding more than 8 drops of my essential oil because I didn't think it smelled strong enough, so really it's to your preference)
-Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and then fill with water and shake to mix up the baking soda and the water

BAM!

I have more cleaning solutions but these are my top two favorites.
Here's a funny story. Before I started making my own cleaning solutions, I  would go nuts on buying cleaning products! when I say nuts I mean like 4 bottles of each cleaning product and then some. Luckily, it was all from the dollar store but I still spent about $80 on just cleaning products and trust me, I used all of them.
Any who, I think I told my husband I was going to the dollar store for a few specific things and left with $80 of cleaning products. When he got home from work and saw my stock pile on the living room floor (I hadn't put them all the way yet), he looked at me like I was crazy. Now he thinks I shouldn't be allowed to go to the dollar store by myself. LOL

Here was my stock pile.
I just Loveeee new cleaning stuff!

Fun Fact: One of my most favorite cleaning products is the Magic Eraser. This sponge thing has been a lifesaver. Being married to a mechanic and living in a place with white walls just do not go hand in hand. I am constantly wiping black marks off of the walls, doors and the fridge.

Everyone who thinks I'm Crazy and needs help after reading about my obsession, I guarantee, my house smells better than yours! :P

Married To A Mechanic: 8 things to expect. 🔧

Since I've started blogging, I've only blogged about my husband personally like once or twice, so this is dedicated to my mechanic husband. Erich has been working on cars since he was about 14 years old, so 20 years. He does it for a living but on diesels. He does it in hi spare time as well so basically, all the freaking time. Here's what to expect if you date a mechanic. Car Talk Mechanics talk about cars like 24/7; Parts, make and model, they even try to explain to you how certain parts work. If you tell them you don't understand, they will explain again, in depth with more detail, which is even more confusing. Either go on Google and learn a little bit or pretend you understand what they are talking about. Oil & Grease White anything is against any mechanics beliefs. I have to clean the walls, counters, appliances, PRETTY MUCH EVERYTHING at minimum of 3 times a week. They are usually covered from head to toe in oil and grease. Honestly, I thin...

Spring Time Means Allergies!

Sprint time is the worst season for me. I hate this season honestly. My allergies are horrible during spring, like when I say horrible, I mean face swollen, constant nose blowing. The whole awful nine yards. Just the other day, I swear I sneezed about a million and one times and then lost my voice. We just moved into a house that had ben vacant for two months before we moved in, so there was two months of dust accumulated on the floors and walls. Needless to say, my first day in our new house consisted of a lot of sneezing and wheezing. Since spring is just around the corner and that means so are allergies, I made a list of home remedies for allergy relief that has really helped me and hopefully will help you too. Honey Local raw honey, it builds your immune system up to what's around you. You can get this at places like Whole Foods. Make sure it is local honey though.
